Why Help?
The aim of the ball, apart from creating a memorable social event, is to raise much-needed
funds for the development of the Heathfield & Waldron Rugby Club.
Established 25 years ago, it is an important part of community life in Heathfield
and the surrounding villages. Whilst we already have strong senior teams, the Club
recognises that the best way to ensure future success is to invest in junior rugby,
imparting quality training and skills to the youth of the area.
The Club's vision is encapsulated in the Hurricanes and Warriors and the 'Minis' section
of the Club with squads aged from 5 to 11. Their commitment and energy combined
with exceptional coaching has made them a respected and formidable force in local
youth rugby.
In our commitment to driving the Club forward and improving facilities for our young
players, we are looking to raise £50,000 to purchase a playing area adjacent to
the current ground. We plan to use this as a dedicated training and match facility
for the Hurricanes and to ultimately build a new clubhouse here.
We do hope the ball is a great success and that guests not only have a very enjoyable
evening but also know that they have helped in our aim to provide the Hurricanes
with the best facilities and coaching that we can and ensure the future of rugby
in the area.
